Well that was quick, wasn’t it? One day waiting for the daffodils to arrive and the next I am considering whether to cut down the remains of this year’s crop.
However, back to business and I gather from one of my esteemed colleagues that I wasn’t too clear about cloud storage and the multiple ramifications of which one to choose.
Sorry about that - sometimes my geekiness gets away with me!
So, a way to ensure you are not caught out is to review your storage & organise more disk space and/or more cloud storage as needed. There are so many cloud storage providers for all operating systems these days and you can choose any of them to make sure you have enough secure space for your documents, music, films and photos.
The question then comes up “Why should I pay for storage when I can back all my stuff on a hard drive?”.
Well unless you have the hard drive, you would need to buy it. Then there’s the hassle of either fitting it or finding connectors for your particular computer. It is much easier to have storage which melds with your computer, iPad or iPhone. Storage plans start from as little as 0.25p a month for 20gb so it won’t break the bank.
The Apple system automatically updates your photos to iCloud as soon as you enter a usable wifi area. Other flavours will have programs that perform a similar function. Remember, as I mentioned before, houses do burn down and water tanks spring leaks so you may not have the option of just popping back in to collect your photos!
